Three tracks from Halifax, Nova Scotia's 1990's indie emo/punk/math rock band, State Champs, from various releases:

"Fortress Myers" - 0:00 (Prizewinners! [February 1995] release)
"Wine Makes Us" - 2:21 (Prizewinners! [February 1995] release)
"Lazy Instruments" - 5:55 ("Matlock's First Case" cassette by Matlock Records, [October 1997] release)

The State Champs were, at various points: Andrew Sawler, Jon Dacey, Mark Mullane, Michael Catano, and Yan Raymond.

Prizewinners was a various artists cassette, released with other Halifax-area bands (State Champs, Popularity Contest, Kiss Daddy Goodbye, and Preppy Relatives).

The other two tracks from Preppy Relatives, from the Prizewinners cassette were "I'm Cruising You" and "90 Degrees". Each artist on the Prizewinners cassette had two tracks each, consisting of I believe, 8 tracks in total.

The bands on the compilation did a showcase release show at the Oasis in Halifax on February 24, 1995 - the bands performing at the showcase were: State Champs, Popularity Contest, Kiss Daddy Goodbye, and Preppy Relatives.

The band was originally known as State Champs in 1994, then broke up, and then known as Raleigh Sport in 1993, prior to a final name change back to State Champs, in 1995.
