The shattered glass at the top of a singular wooden door illustrates the ease that a group of vigilantes had when they took Leo Frank hostage and then lynched him in August 1915. The artifact, among others from highly explosive case, reminds us of the horrors of anti-Semitism and the fear inflicted on the hearts and minds of Jews throughout the southern United Stated during that time. We also hear about a series of bombings at Jewish houses of worship and how one -- in October 1958 -- at the Temple in Atlanta became the bomb that healed. Beyond those stories of Murder and Mayhem, you'll also hear stories of hope and survival, as told through objects like a deck of playing cards, a child's teddy bear, and a cotton knapsack.
