In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi continues to cover the ahadith pertaining to Uthman Ibn 'Affan [r] and specific incidents occurring during the life of Abu Bakr and Umar [ra].

A summary of topics covered are:
-Blessings of Uthman [r] as mentioned in the books of hadith
-Hadith of Uthman entering upon the Prophet [r] where the Prophet [s] predicted that Uthman would enter Jannah after some trials
-Hadith of mountain shaking and the Prophet [s] said to it "Calm down Uhud, as you have a Nabi, one siddique and 2 shaheeds on you"
-The prophet [s] covering up part of his leg when Uthman [r] entered, but not when Abu Bakr and Umar had entered, due to Uthman's shyness
-The prophet [s] warned of 3 trials and for Muslims to stay firm during them. a) His death b) Dajjal c) a khalifa killed clinging steadfast to the truth (referring to the death of Uthman [r])
-The prophet [s] patted Uthman [r] on chest and said "Ya Uthman, Allah might give you a shirt, if the hypocrites try to take it off of you, do not let them until you meet me"

Incidents during the life of Abu Bakr and Umar [ra]:
-During time of Abu Bakr [r], Uthman [r] gave advice and was part of inner cabinet.
-Uthman ordered food/merchandise during drought. Vendors wanted to pay upto 50% more, but Uthman said he had an offer of 10 times higher (ie, 1,000%), then gave it all away to the Muslims
-At Abu Bakr's deathbed, Abu Bakr [r] commented that Uthman [r] was the most worthy of Khilafa after Umar [ra].
-During time of Umar [r]'s khilafa, Uthman [r] was the one to suggest starting the Islamic calendar at Muharram.
-Uthman [r] was also the first to recommend the registry [census].

-Appointment of Uthman as Khalifa:
-Umar [r] assigned 6 people to decide next khalifa
-AbdurRahman Ibn Al'Auf made final decision and picked Uthman over Ali [ra] to be the next Khalifa, after making consultations with various others.
