Learn the proper way to position and adjust a bicycle front derailleur!

This is one of the hardest adjustments to make on a bike because there is so much room for human error while positioning. The large gap and difference in teeth between the front rings can make shifting finicky. With the principles taught in the video and patience, you can achieve smooth, reliable, and quiet shifting.

Let me know if you have any questions or video requests.

Required tools:
-phillips screw driver
-5mm allen wrench (some bikes may use 8/9/10mm wrench in place of allen bolt)

Remember nuts and bolts on 99% of bikes are metric!

For this demonstration I use a Giant Anthem bike equipped with Shimano Deore derailleur and rapid fire shifter. Filming was done with an iPhone 5s.
