The environmental information platform 'Mongabay', founded by the American journalist Rhett Butler, received on February 19, 2024 the V Biophilia Award for Environmental Communication from the BBVA Foundation "for its outstanding track record in communication on the conservation of nature and biodiversity, especially in the countries of the Global South, through the contribution of more than 800 journalists, scientists and collaborators in more than 80 countries and in 6 languages", in the words of the jury.
