As of March 2022, the percentage of pastors who have considered quitting full-time ministry within the past year sits at 42 percent. 🆘
Imagine the effect on a lost, darkening world - and the church - if we lost 42% of our pastors to burn out. 🛑
Over four in five pastors who haven’t considered quitting (83%) say they believe in the value of their ministry, but pastors who haven’t thought about leaving ministry indicate “the immense stress of the job” (34%), “current political divisions” (32%) and feeling “lonely and isolated” (18%) are factors that have negatively impacted their ability to lead at their church within the past year.
Only one in three pastors is considered “healthy” in terms of well-being and current data indicates seven in ten pastors will not finish well in ministry.
At SES, we know there is a better way. 💯
