The original Audi R8 debuted back in 2008 and had everyone interested about what its capabilities were. It was aimed directly at the Porsche 911 and was coming from a company, Audi, who wasn't really known for making mid engine sports cars. The example I have today is the V8 version of the Audi R8 with the R-tronic automatic transmission.

When i drove the V10 variant of the R8, I loved it because of the howling exhaust from the V10 and when I was going to get the chance to drive the V8, i was really excited. I wasn't sure what I expect but I did know that several people actually prefer the V8 to the V10 because of sound and also daily drivability.

I walked away from the V8 R8 in amazement. I had so many thoughts when i driving this car. Its a true drivers car even with the automatic transmission. There is a specific engagement that it delivers that makes it a unique experience. Watch the full video to find out what I think.
