Welcome to the Fulton Road Mid-April 2024 video. This video is an update of my N scale model railroad build. In this video I show you how I weather an Atlas utility truck. This video is also a departure from my past video editing practice which I've always done on an iPad. I'm using iMovie on an old Macbook Pro. This laptop was long-abandoned by a family member after acquiring newer ones.

About a year ago I decided that instead of taking it to a shop for refurbishment I would try to do some upgrades on my own. Where would I be without YouTube?!?! I bought a solid state hard drive and some memory sticks to upgrade the RAM. It worked!

So, I'm running MacOS High Sierra and installed iMovie 10.1.12. It's a few versions behind the latest version but it works. The learning process has been interesting. I've had my trials and tribulations but the options for editing are so much greater than using my iPad. This was the first motivation for putting this video out in the middle of the month.

Also, I bought a bracket or clamp that holds my iPhone while shooting video above my work bench. I previously used a mini-Gorilla pod which was ok but didn't allow those straight-down shots that I thought would be better. I have to figure out stuff like best height and how to keep things in focus. I'm still trying stuff out! Trial and error. But I got the hang of it and shot several clips about weathering. This was the second motivation for getting this video out.

And I'm having some fun sharing what I do with my model trains.
