UPDATE: I messed up the strap connection in the video, oops. Unboxing, review, and setup of the Ikea / Teenage Engineering speaker collaboration - Frekvens 8x12 and 4x8 , subwoofer, LED lights, and accessory kit to build a really loud rechargable Bluetooth speaker with some wacky design elements. I compare this against theMarshall Stockwell II speaker and this sounds twice as loud (+10db) for the same price at the sacrifice of low level performance and finesse.

FAQs ------------------------------------------

Did I mess up the strap connection?
YEP. Thanks for everyone on the internet I now see you need to slide the handle through the loop in the strap. How do you know I didn't do this to troll y'all (I didn't)

Is it super hifi?
Nah

Is it a stupid piece of plastic junk?
Not any more than other bluetooth speaker

Are there better bluetooth speakers for a similar price?
Sure, depends on the application but it's a decent value

Is it good for low level listening?
Not really, the volume stops are too big and there is no loudness compensation so it can sound thin

Is the sub any good?
It does seem to give you solid bass down to 50hz or so and is decently loud but don't expect miracles. It has a thicker upper bass kind of sound that I think obscures some of the lower frekvencies (!)

Why I buy it?
If you like the aesthetics and want a pretty loud outdoor/party speaker

What's it comparable to?
I think this is worth a look if you're looking at the larger JBL or Sony party speakers (those have a similar sound signature), a Minirig system with sub (more expensive, probably better fidelity though), Soundbox (way more expensive and louder but if that's more than you need).

I have two speakers - why is the level so low on the second one?
Seems that if you connect the sub to the first speaker the second speaker connected to the output on the first is too low. Try plugging the sub into the second speaker, should fix it
