Repair of a brand new Predator Inverter that failed in less than 60 minutes of runtime....My friend owns this generator. He bought it one or two years ago, got busy and left it in its original box for as long as that until just recently.

He tried to start it after prepping it with oil, etc. and it wouldn't start. He brought it to my house where I/we messed with it for a few minutes and it started up. We both thought it was his unfamiliarity with the machine and he flooded it.

Fast forward 3 or 4 weeks. We went to work on his Freightliner's air conditioning system and we needed electricity to run an HVAC vacuum pump.
It ran for about 10~15 minutes and then died. Luckily he had an inverter in the truck and e used that for the vacuum pump.

That day we took it home and disconnected the oil level switch, suspecting it was the cause. It started right up and we let it run for a full 45 minutes after that so once again we assumed it was now ok.

We took it once again to his truck to finish the repair of his ac system and once again it ran for about 10 minutes and died and never started up again thereafter.
The lesson?
Always check these things out while still under warranty else you get screwed.
