Matt Freyer fabricates a handmade square-cut common nail with anvil, hammer, and propane forge at the blacksmith workshop at the Arizona Historical Society’s Pioneer Museum of Flagstaff. Matt explains the significance of blacksmiths in old Flagstaff, shows photographs of old forges and workshops in Flagstaff, and demonstrates the entire process of making a nail from a raw steel rod.
