This performance is from a 2008 tribute at Paterson State University to the great Lebanese lady who established first cabaret in Cairo late 30's of the last century, Badi3a Massabni. The cabaret was of three stories, each featuring various activities, it also featured some musical & dancing talents who became famous artists, Farid Al-Atrache, Karem Mahmoud, Mahmoud Chareef, Samia Gamal, Tahiya Karioka and many other performers.

Raqsat Badi3a, a composition by Farid Ghosn who was the music director in the cabaret, as well as a known composer & top oudist of the era. He composed for the Umm, Asmahan, Sabah, Lore Dakkach and others. He was also the oud teacher of the great Farid Al-Atrash. The Cabaret was a hub for German, English, French, Italian, Egyptian army officers during the second world war including Egyptian dignitaries.
