The resort started construction in February 2007 and changed ownerships a few times. The resort cost of $3.7 billion to build and finished after 16 years. It opened to the general public at 11:45PM on December 13, 2023. There was a ribbon cutting event at 10AM earlier in the day and private event for invited guests before it open to the general public. It is 737 feet (225 m) tall making it the tallest occupiable building in the state of Nevada. Fontainebleau is home to Papi Steak Las Vegas, Don's Prime, and the Bleaulive Theater that will host Post Malone as a resident artist.
