Medical writing tests are a mainstay in the recruitment process of medical writers.
Employers use them to assess writing ability and competence at interpreting clinical data.

Yet despite their common use, there’s very little info freely available about what to expect from a writing test, or more to the point – what’s expected from you as the applicant!

This can be an issue for aspiring medical writers, who are not yet familiar with writing test best practice.

To help address this issue, I’ve recorded a conversation with Vera Chan (a medical writer and host of the PhD Coffee Time channel), about our experiences of medical writing tests, to help aspiring writers prepare for these assessments.

In this video you will find out:

- Why employers use medical writing tests and how they incorporate them into the hiring process
- The types of tests you might get asked to write
- What to include in your medical writing tests in order to pass

Thanks for your insights Vera!
