Our journey starts in the Pacific Northwest as we prepare to head up to Alaska on the Alaskan Marine Highway. Our passage on the Alaska Marine Highway left from the port in Bellingham Washington and would soon carry us nearly a 1000 miles north, to Juneau Alaska. The boat navigates an intricate path through the inside passage which is a narrow network of corridors through the islands on the Pacific Northwest coast of the North American Fjordlands.
