Ministers have announced plans that new non-domestic buildings in England must have separate facilities for men and women.

Government consultation highlighted growing concerns among women, elderly and disabled people over the increase of single-sex toilets. However, transgender rights group say gender neutral facilities protect those in the trans community from discrimination.
