Quirky looks and Citroen's signature smooth ride isn't enough to put the e-C4 ahead of electric rivals such as the VW ID.3, Nissan Leaf and Kia e-Niro.
On paper, the e-C4 is pretty competitive. It offers up to 160 miles of all-electric range at a price that just creeps under £30,000. It also boasts 100kW charging, which isn't the fastest on sale but is pretty decent at this corner of the EV market. The e-C4 drives like a Citroen, too, with its incredibly light steering making it a breeze to drive around town and its silent nature only adds to the appeal. But it's not perfect, with a spongy ride and inconsistent battery range spoiling what could have been an effortless EV.
