For 8 years Ethan has lived on the streets of New York City. He is living as an extreme minimalist, trying to have zero waste, and zero emissions. He talks a lot about protecting the environment, but also claims he is helping other people living on the streets.

There have been numerous articles about Ethan over the years. Many in the neighborhood view him as just another homeless person. They describe the street he sleeps on as a homeless encampment.
