LLWAV - It's been a year since I put both of these radios into my Challenger. Surprisingly I am still getting questions about both radios/head units till this day. After installing the Amase 10.1 into my home boys Challenger, I had the perfect opportunity to revisit both head units and give you a follow up. Below I have provided my pros and cons of both as well as links where you can purchase both if you choose to.

Tesla 12.8 Head Unit

Pros:
1. Large Screen
2. Adjustable viewing angles
3. Screen resolution 1080p
4. Apple CarPlay / Android Auto ready. No additional pieces needed.

Cons:
1. Takes a full month to receive unit once ordered typically.
2. Hands free voice calls sound terrible. I've used 3 different mics and everyone still hates talking to me while in the car.
3. Vertical orientation looks amazing but blocks center vents, AC controls & gear shifter could hit the screen if you are not careful.
4. Sound quality isn't as good as a head unit with DSP capability. Unit still sounds better than stock head unit.
5. Unit is unable to sit flush with center console due to adjustable screen mechanism.
6. Unit needs data (tethered to phones cellular signal) in order for built in GPS to work. Advertises functioning GPS with everything included. Should work without phone.

Amase 10.1

Pros:
1. DSP sound system. This head unit will blow you away.
2. 1 touch auto rotating screen.
3. Hands free voice calls are crystal clear.
4. Clean install. Almost flush with center console.
5. Screen size.

Cons
1. Volume selection on screen is a 2 part operation. Cumbersome while driving.
2. Non adjustable viewing angles
3. Screen resolution is 720p maximum
4. You need an additional piece for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay sold separately. Unit advertises "Android Auto/Apple CarPlay capable." Doesn't say piece sold separately.
5. Unit needs data (tethered to phones cellular signal) in order for built in GPS to work. Advertises functioning GPS with everything included. Should work without phone.
