The boys and I unbox, and then test, the new Amico CUT-50HF pilot arc plasma cutter. This thing is pretty sweet, and it makes me wonder why I didn't get it years ago. All that time cutting with oxygen and acetylene and catching so many things on fire!

The HF in the model number stands for High Frequency. The pilot arc functionality is what makes these types of plasma cutters so great. No need to have a bare metal surface to strike an arc from anymore. As long as you can get a good ground, this thing will arc itself and will cut through paint, rust, and the steel below it. It's rated at 3/5" clean cutting and 1" rough cutting! That's crazy! In our initial test it cut through 1/4" angle with no problem (once I figured out the amperage setting). Cutting through 20ga was like a hot knife in warm butter. I wish I had something thicker to cut when we were testing as I'm really curious how it does there.

As mentioned in the video, before you buy any plasma cutter, pay attention to the consumables that it uses. Some brands are fairly proprietary, and the consumables can be expensive.
