Double play: Two one-hour dramas from that wonderful year 1996. Both premiered in September; neither made it to the next September.
• Moloney: Peter Strauss ('Rich Man, Poor Man') plays a psychiatrist who works for the local police force. No it's not the same as Lindsay Wagner in 'Jessie': she was a shrink for the cops, but Moloney is a shrink and a fully commissioned police officer...two jobs in one. Nevertheless, CBS cancelled the show after 21 episodes.
• Dangerous Minds: Annie Potts takes over the Michelle Pfeiffer film role as real-life Marine-turned-inner-city-teacher LouAnne Johnson. There were critics who liked it better than the movie, but more didn't. ABC cut the cord after 17 episodes.
00:00 Opening titles, Moloney. Theme by Russ Landau ('Survivor').
00:42 Opening titles, Dangerous Minds. The theme is 'Gangsta's Paradise' by Coolio (who appeared in the show as a sex-ed teacher), LV, and Doug Rasheed.
