Today on our 2003 GMC Sierra, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller, part number 90885. We'll be using this brake controller in conjunction with the Tekonsha direct fit plug-in wire adapter, part number 3015-P. First we'll need to remove the cover on the manufacturer's junction box. We'll remove the plastic nut and then the cover. Located on the top row, second set of connection pins from the left will be a direct fit plug for our Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter. While I plug into it, we'll start routing the wire over to our brake controller location, which will be towards the center of the vehicle just to the right of the gas pedal.

Then re-install the junction box cover. Using a couple of self-tapping screws, we'll go directly into the metal flange just below the kick panel. We'll go ahead and install the wiring harness into the back of the brake controller. Now we can mount the brake controller to the bracket using the two fastening screws provided with our install kit. Next we'll go ahead and secure the wiring up underneath the dash. Using several long black zip ties, we'll go ahead and secure the wiring out of the way, staying away from any moving components such as the steering shaft or brake pedal.

Now, with our wires secure, we'll go ahead and cut off the excess from the zip ties to clean up our install look. This will complete the install of our Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller, part number 90885 in conjunction with the Tekonsha direct fit plug-in wiring adapter, part number 3015-P, on our 2003 GMC Sierra. .
