Medina, Ohio -- Officials with the Medina City Schools were performing a random quarterly done alcohol test of their drivers. When one of the drivers failed their test, they notified Medina Police. Days later Medina Police showed up at the suspects house and began their investigation. After failing the test, the driver was suspended from work and subsequently resigned.
The male at first didn't admit to drinking while driving but eventually did admit to it. The male was arrested the next day.
The male, later identified as Hebert Ferguson, was charged with the following:
- x6 Child Endangering
- x1 OVI
The OVI charge was dismissed. An explanation can be seen at the end of the video. The judge sentenced the driver to the following:
- 540 days jail time (2670 suspended)
- Probation for 6 years
- $3,000 fine
- Cannot consume any alcoholic beverages
- Subject to random drug/alcohol screening
- Cannot violate any laws
- Ignition interlock device required
- Driver's license is to be suspended for the duration of probation with limited driving privileges allowed.
