In this epic visual effects tutorial, I'll show you some solid steps for creating a Gunslinger. Inspired by the new movie coming out soon "The Dark Tower" written by Stephen King. Here I'll show you how to move bullets around in 3D space, load bullets into a spinning revolver, catch bullets in the air, and animate a png file. Patience is key people! Spend some time on this edit. Make sure your shadow is in the right place and keyframe the mask path. Instead of having the Element 3D bullet rotating inside the revolver, use a solid layer. This tutorial is a bit more advanced than previous tuts by me. If this seems a little hard, definitely check out my prior after effects tutorials to get a better idea on how to mask, matte, and track things in AE. BUUUUUUT, if you're too lazy and don't want to learn AE the hard way, then feel free to ask me any questions (in the comments) on what you may be confused on or need additional help with.

• For this tutorial, I use Adobe After Effects CC 2017 and the plugin Element 3D from Videocopilot.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

• If you don't have Element 3D, you can always use a 2D bullet image.
• Track your footage, apply the data to a Null object, and use that Null to reference objects you may put in your scene.
• I didn't go over sound effects, but don't be afraid to layer a lot of sounds. Sound effects help a ton!
