The Hyundai Palisade is an all-new three-row seven or eight passenger SUV. The new Hyundai Palisade replaces the slightly smaller Hyundai Santa FE XL. The Palisade shares the same engine, transmission and platform with the Kia Telluride. The way that Hyundai equips its Palisade is different than the Kia due to the availability of a base FWD model. The Hyundai is offered with more trim choices, the Telluride is only sold with three trims in Canada. Driving the all-new Hyundai Palisade isa 3.8l V6 engine with 291hp running on the more efficient Atkinson cycle. There is an 8-speed automatic transmission and available 20-inch wheels. The Hyundai Palisade is sold as an 8-passenger base model or optional 7-passenger setup with second row captains chairs. The Hyundai palisade mid-size SUV comes with a base 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In the Canadian market, the buyer needs to choose the top two trims to get the 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Three features the Palisade has over the Telluride are a push-button transmission, a power folding third row of seats and fully digital 12,3-inch instrument cluster on the top trim. The Kia Telluride also has some advantages, including standard LED lights, standard 10.25-inch centre screen with standard navigation, USB-C connections and standard wireless charging pad for smartphones.The Telluride returns good fuel economy for such a large 4-row utility. It is rated at 12.3L/100km in the city and 9.6L on the highway. That’s 19 MPG City and 26MPG HWY
