These final Mishimoto products installed on Luca’s car will make a big difference in performance. It will allow Luca to beat on his car, keep the oil temps down, and greatly reduce the amount of engine oil that circulates through the intake system. With a stock engine, or even modified engine, keeping the oil temperatures down are essential to maintaining your engine’s performance. If the oil gets too hot, the engine oil’s lubricating properties degrade at an exponential rate, resulting in spinning a bearing or blowing your engine.

As for the oil catch can, it mounts between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. It is supposed pull the oil from the PCV system and retain it in a can, while the vacuum that is produced from the intake manifold can still pull air through it. After every oil change you should inspect the OCC and drain any oil from it. This system will not only keep the engine running more efficiently, but it will also reduce the amount of carbon buildup found in the engine. If I had one of these installed on my MINI since day 1, I wouldn’t have had to perform the stupid walnut blasting procedure (   • How to Walnut Blast Your Intake Valve...  ).
