When I went to see Abominable in cinemas I was surrounded by happy responses and reviews for this nice and wholesome adventure across the natural lands of China. But as I sat and watched the film unfold, I didn't share that feeling. To me, it all felt a bit off. As if it had been mechanically processed to be the perfect formula of storytelling. It was as if an AI wrote the script through machine learning. It does nothing original, unique or unexpected in any direction. And why is that? Well, there's actually a surprising amount of context surrounding the film that hopefully won't be too big of an issue for the future of DreamWorks Animation's upcoming projects. The film industry is getting bored and repetitive. And this movie is the first prominent outcome of a new potential direction for the movie industry. Here's why...

...Am I the only one who didn't enjoy this movie? Sure it's wholesome and happy, but it's all been done before. Maybe I'm reading into this all too much. But I don't like this new basic formula of cinema to be the norm going forward...
