This video will discuss the 2002 and 2003 Lexus ES300. Also will discuss the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Lexus ES330.

The 2002 Lexus ES300 is a midsize, front-wheel drive premium sedan.

The smaller Lexus IS had become Lexus' entry-level car. With the IS in the Lexus lineup the execs were able to push the new ES 300 further upmarket—giving it a more luxurious and upscale image. The frameless doors of the previous ES were also gone in this new model.

Overall, the new 2002 Lexus ES was a much-refined cousin of the Toyota Camry. It represented a luxurious take on the so-called entry-luxury segment. But there was nothing really “entry” about it. For instance, the new Lexus ES borrowed so many luxury features from the LS 430 that it was being called the “Baby LS 430” in the halls at Lexus.

Up front, the car was striking, if not polarizing. The oversized headlamp cluster was swoopy and angular. The Lexus badge was positioned on the hood. A design cue in line with previous ES sedans. Many even mentioned the new ES resembled its distant cousin, the Celica. Which wasn’t a bad thing since the Celica was an attractive sports coupe.

The new, dramatic-looking Lexus ES sported a longer wheelbase—which increased by two inches and was even a bit taller than the outgoing 2001 ES300. The roofline went from 54.9 in. high to 57.3. This resulted in greater interior space.
