The bathtub drain install will go much more smooth if you have easy access to the plumbing area once the tub is in place. Bear in mind, I like to install the plumbing BEFORE securing the tub to the studs. This allows you to slightly adjust the tub to fit the plumbing. There’s no limit to what you’ll run into when you’re installing tub plumbing, so having the access panel (for me) is critical.
