Note: This is a review based on the game demo. My opinions are based around the gameplay and game mechanics of the game which are adequately outlined in this demo. Much like many of my reviews it is not a thorough dissection of the entire game, but a more visceral reaction to the first few hours of the game and the mechanics that it follows.

Despot's Game is a game where you unceremoniously sacrifice the lives of a number of puny humans that lack the most basic features that would otherwise identify them as human. Your magnanimous favor gives them purpose by assigning them powerful classes and only through the collaboration with the other faceless unidentifiable humans can they hope to succeed in their efforts to succeed. Unbeknownst to them, they will most certainly die, and you, as the player, as their God, will remain unflinching in the face of their death. Instead you will simply recruit a new puny human who will take their place and sacrifice themselves for you in this sick and twisted game of utilitarian extermination. So... It's pretty fun.
