When spending time in the jungles spread throughout the world it is essential to keep a machete sharp and in action. A machete, and in this case my BOMA is one of my essential tools to thrive. I don't leave home without it!
A rotten(ish) log and some sand is all you need to put a quick working edge back on your machete. Bottomline the long has to give a little. You should be able to press your finger into the log and make a small indentation into it. This creates a flat surface and allows the sand particles to in-bed in the wood fibers. Before you know it you have essentially a sharpening stone or file that will address any sharpness issues in a few minutes.
