British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced plans to begin sending asylum seekers to Rwanda within the next 10 to 12 weeks, despite facing opposition to the proposal in Parliament. Sunak emphasized his determination to push through the legislation, even if it means overriding objections.

Sunak revealed that the government has already arranged commercial charter flights and trained personnel to transport asylum seekers to Rwanda. This move is seen as an effort to bolster support for the Conservative Party ahead of an upcoming election.

Despite facing resistance, particularly in the House of Lords, Sunak insisted that the government would press ahead with the plan, even if it means holding late-night parliamentary sessions to secure approval.

The decision to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda is part of the government's strategy to deter irregular migration, particularly those crossing the English Channel in small boats, often organized by human traffickers.

However, several charities and rights groups have condemned the plan, describing it as both unfeasible and inhumane. They argue that asylum seekers should be treated with dignity and provided with safe refuge, rather than being sent to potentially unsafe conditions in Rwanda.
