An absolutely massive thank you to dghz design, the extremely talented artist who made the animated background for this project. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any socials yet, but if you show him some love, he'll be sure to see.

Note on the Makings of this album:

I love The Witcher. Like many of you, I’m sure I’ll never be able to recreate the feeling of the time I first played through the games, read the books, or watched the show (at least season 1!)

I was immersed in the treacherous thickets of Velen where the mist shrouds sorrow-soaked marshes. In the breathtaking heights of Aard Skellig, with its undulating fields and majestic mountains. In Novigrad, its labyrinthine streets weaving a tapestry of contrasts, with dirt and opulence clashing amidst its bustling chaos. And Kaer Morhen - chilling mountains overlooking serene streams, ruins echoing the glory and whispers of a haunting past. Each location in The Witcher is a vivid brushstroke in a masterpiece, one created by Andrzej Sapkowski, and brought to life by CD projekt red.

The music from the games, and subsequently season one of the show, was put together with so much attention to detail and sensitivity for the world of The Witcher, that it has now been firmly embedded in my brain, and attached to that sense of adventure and escape.

Once again, it provided an escape from what has been the darkest time in my life. On the 17th of October, my dad passed away unexpectedly. The next day I started making my cover of the Kaer Morhen theme. I was completely broken, and so sought refuge in the only thing that could distract me - music. I let all my emotions pour out, my most beautiful memories of him, the memories that could’ve been made, and the unbearable, unshakable pain. So if this album is slightly more melancholy than my usual adventurous beats, then you know why!

I locked myself away in my room and worked without break for 2 months, often 14 hours a day. I made countless notes on the original songs, researched traditional Slavic instruments, and planned out the music I believed would be truest to the witcher universe. I wanted to bring you back to the first time shamelessly no-lifed the game, and get you dying to do it again. So I truly hope, that like the games, books, and show, this album can mean as much to you as it does to me.

As I've said before, I wouldn't be making music if it wasn’t for my Dad. I sent him every song I ever made, and talked each one through with him for hours. Now, he lives on in each song I make, as part of me, as part of him.
