Lord Krishna reveals in Bhagavad Gita 3.14 - What is your duty to God? Swami Mukundananda states that when a person does his or her duty in the spirit of sacrifice for the pleasure of the God, their work becomes Yagya. Such Yagya not only pleases the supreme lord, but also satisfies all the celestial gods or devatas in charge of God's administration and they automatically bestow peace and prosperity on the soul, making conditions conducive for the soul's upliftment. Lord Krishna reveals about the cycle of rain and grain - All living beings subsist on food (grain), and food is produced by rains. Rains come from the performance of Yagya (sacrifice to Go). If each person does his duty in the spirit of Yagya, there will be prosperity in this world.
