Hello friends and foes of Middle-earth and welcome back! Today we celebrate Hobbit Day on the 22nd of September - the day that both Frodo Baggins and Bilbo Baggins had birthday. This is the first time we celebrate Hobbit day on the channel and I thought I'd like to cover something not covered elsewhere (at least not to my knowledge); The Life of Bilbo Baggins before the Events in The Hobbit. While he didn't have a lot of adventures before The Hobbit, there still happened a lot of things in The Shire.

Today we will explore several events that happened during Bilbo's life. At the beginning of the Video we will explore who Bilbo's paretns were - Belladonna Took and Bungo Baggins. And what were they like?
The foundation of Bag End in Hobbiton will also be covered, as it was built by Bungo Baggins, but largely financed by Belladonna Took.
The most dramatic event in Bilbo's early life was the Fell Winter of 2911-2912 of the Third age. A harsh and long lasting winter in Middle-earth. During the winter many of the hobbits were starving in The shire and Gandalf and the Dúnedain rangers had to aid the hobbits. At the same time white wolves came down from the North and plagued Eriador. Some of them crossed the frozen Brandywine river and entered The shire. The Horn-call of Buckland sounded and the rangers no doubt helped hunting down the wolves.

Later in the video we will also briefly cover the life of Arathorn and Gilraen as their story occurred before the events in The Hobbit as well.

Lastly I'll cover a minor detail at the end of Bilbo's journey you might not know about.
