We're back with a very special video from the Race of Remembrance at Angelsey Circuit. This is a 12 hour endurance race, run by Mission Motorsport that helps servicemen and ex-servicemen get into motorsport and automotive careers.

Our very own Paul Woodman is amongst drivers for the PaddlUp Lovecars team for 2021, alongside fellow Caterham Academy driver, Freddy Chiddicks, Mission Motorsport team member Danny Holland and Paddlup founder, Joe Priday.

Qualifying for the 50 cars taking part was a 2.5 hour day time slot, where each driver had to do a minimum of 3 laps. Each driver had to do 3 laps at night time, too. We were able to qualify 6th best overall, 5th best in our class and the second fastest Caterham car on the grid!

In the first few laps, we nearly got taken out by a Honda Civic! We avoided any major damage, taking just a broken wing. Freddie then brought the Caterham 270 car into the pits for Formula 1 quality pitstop to get Paul into the driver's seat!

What should've been a 4 minute pit stop, ended up being a 15 minute pit stop with issues with filling the car up! When Paul finally got into the car, we were back into 28th position! We had no idea of how much fuel we had left in our fuel tank, but we got lucky with a safety car and were able to use the on-site fuelling station in our second pit stop.

Handing over to Joe, Paul had managed to pull us up to 17th position! Angelsey was now in full darkness as Joe drove on into the night. Joe then handed back to Freddie for his second stint of driving. To try and get us as many places as possible up the grid, we left Freddie out for longer, before switching our driving over to Danny for the final stint.

As day 1 drew to a close, we managed to pull a few places back from our dreadful pitstop earlier in the day, resulting in 4th overall! Day 2 left just 6 hours to drive in the daylight, with Danny back at the wheel. Following a Remembrance Sunday service, Paul was back in the driving seat with the Paddlup Lovecars team fighting for a podium!

We finished the race in a very respectable 4th place! Not bad for a first attempt! So proud of the team and everyone that took part in the Race of Remembrance this year. A huge thanks to Paddlup, Mission Motorsport and Caterham for making this happen!
