The Social Justice Learning Institute’s educational equity programs empower youth of color to create bold solutions for helping the world they live within.

Through four key areas—academic and career development, identity development, social justice youth leadership, social-emotional support—youth learn to build knowledge of self for personal transformation, develop social awareness of the world around them, and achieve academic success.

To celebrate their hard work and momentous achievements, SJLI hosts an annual culmination event.

This year's culmination, held at the University of Houston on May 6, 2023, honored 28 of our graduating seniors from our Urban Scholars.
