Egyptian authorities unveiled five newly discovered tombs in the Saqqara necropolis, located south of the Egyptian capital Cairo. The five tombs belonged to senior royal officials, according to Mostafa Waziri, the head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities. The country’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said that one belonged to a top official named Iry, while the others belonged to different members of the royal court. This included a "steward of the royal house” and a priestess responsible for the king's “beautification.”
