"I read the script and, yeah, I had to read it two times because I thought, 'Am I reading this right?' It was so strange and dark, but so funny and so warm at the same time and, which is a perfect combination. And it reminded me of Charlie Kaufman and yeah, which I love. And so I was very, very happy and lucky to be a part of this movie."

STORYLINE:
Actor Sebastian Stan and the cast and crew of "A Different Man" walk the red carpet at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival Friday night.

The movie is about an aspiring actor called Edward, who undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically transform his appearance. But his new dream face quickly turns into a nightmare, as he loses out on the role he was born to play and becomes obsessed with reclaiming what was lost.

"I read the script and I had to read it two times because I thought, 'Am I reading this right?' It was so strange and dark, but so funny and so warm at the same time," said actress Renate Reinsve, about the movie in competition for the Golden Bear. "I was very, very happy and lucky to be a part of this movie."

In attendance, actress Hunter Schafer for the world premiere of her upcoming horror movie by Tilman Singer, "Cuckoo," about a secret conspiracy in the German Alps.

The Berlin International Film Festival runs through 25 February 2024.
