The 2023 Krämer EVO2-690S is the lightweight race bike many racers have always dreamed about. Don't believe us? We'll let the numbers do the talking: An uncompromising, race-ready steel-trellis frame and aluminum swingarm are married to a torque-rich KTM LC4 690 single-cylinder engine, pumping out a claimed 80 horsepower. Here's the kicker—the svelte steed tips the scales at 285 pounds, fully fueled, and can get even lighter than that, depending on your options.

If that isn't enough, this racetrack-only machine's chassis is the definition of adjustable. From swingarm pivot point and fully adjustable suspension to ergonomics, riders have every tool at their disposal to drop lap times. Agility is the buzzword when talking about the EVO2-690S, with its uncompromising chassis able to carve up racetracks far and wide.

Kramer's EVO2-690S is the gateway to the brand's single-cylinder and parallel-twin powered range of competition-use-only motorcycles, with an MSRP of $15,995 in the United States. But, if you're going to review a race bike, you might as well race it, and that's what Senior Editor Nic de Sena did at the 2023 Barber Vintage Festival, which stands as the final round of this year's AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association) season.

Krämer Motorcycles has quickly built a faithful following from its Germany-based facilities in the niche market of factory-built race bikes. After getting some seat time with its base model bike, we can see why. No production motorcycle can match this machine's handling capabilities, which makes it a perfect motorcycle for those looking to hone their race craft or trackday riders.

Special thanks to the Krämer Motorcycles family (Marcus, Felix Joe, Brittany, Jensen, Barb, Ross, Christian, and Brian) and the entire AHRMA for all their assistance throughout the weekend.
