CPAP mouth leak and dry mouth is a major problem for many cpap users. It is No.1 reason many cpap users suffer from dry mouth symptoms and this can lead to more serious dental problems including tooth decay and gum disease.

CPAP therapy can be noisy but mask leaks and mouth leaks can really add to the noise and it can also disturb the sleep of you and your bed partner

Mouth leak can also reduce the effectiveness of the therapy as it reduces the pressure differential resulting in a lower delivered pressure.

So how do fix it?
1. Heat and humidity - Warm, moist air will help alleviate congestion and make it easier to breathe through your nose. Cold, dry air causes the your nasal passages to shrink making it harder to breathe through your nose so you are more likely to then breathe through your mouth.

2. Fine tune your cpap therapy pressure levels. Learn from me how to use your cpap data to fine tune your therapy levels so they are optimal and working at the lowest possible level whilst still adequately treating your snoring and sleep apnea. The lower the pressure, the easier it is to breathe through your nose

3. You can try a chin strap. There's lots available.

4. My personal favourite is mouth strips and mouth tape. It's affordable, easy to use and can make a big difference. Some of my favourites including.
