A question we get asked quite often goes along the lines of "Can I buy a pair of Elite Series wheels today, then send them back later to change the spoke colour / upgrade to Custom Shop spec / switch from road to disc hubs?"

We don't like saying No, but when you understand what's involved in making any or all of the changes like those requested above you'll understand that it makes no practical or economic sense to do.
