My husband, Michael, and I officially moved out of New York City and bought a house! 🏡 We just purchased our first home and have officially started renovations on the new space. Actually, at the point at which I'm posting this, the renovations are basically complete!

If you follow me on TikTok and Instagram (@luciebfink) you may have seen my new Homeowner Series where I’ve been sharing updates on the house and how we plan on renovating it. I realized, however, that YouTube is really “my spot”— it’s where I belong :) —so I feel like I owe it to you guys to make an extended version of my homeowner content exclusively for this platform.

Throughout this video, I give a breakdown of our renovation plans (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc.) and what we’ve already started remodeling in the space. Everything from sanding and resurfacing the original hardwoods, updating the recessed lighting and doors, to adding in a picture window, and creating a mudroom. I’m especially excited to share about the primary bathroom renovation and our plans for the kitchen remodel!

As a little disclaimer: because we plan to stay in this home for so long, we are making over the space to fit our personal aesthetic/style. You will see in the video that the previous owners had executed the cosmetic design with a very specific taste, so while the house was beautiful and in great condition, it didn't totally align with our vision for the space—a more minimal, simple aesthetic. You may not agree with the changes we are making, and that’s totally OKAY! Everyone has their own taste. I am sharing what we chose to do for OUR home, and you can take note of what you like and dislike for your own future projects. That’s the beauty of renovating a space — you can make it totally your own!
