Thank you to all of our guests, partners, funders, venues and to you, the fabulous audiences. That’s a wrap for this year!

Each February, DIFF transforms Dublin into a hub of cinematic excellence, celebrating the art and craft of filmmaking. The programme features star-studded Irish and international premieres, exclusive screenings and events, playful and powerful documentaries, captivating features, thought-provoking shorts, intimate Q&As, industry masterclasses, parties and celebrations. The festival also hosts its prestigious award ceremony, celebrating the art of filmmaking and the power of storytelling at home and abroad.

The 2024 festival welcomed 19,200 people across 10 days, screening 138 films from 50 countries, shown across 14 venues.

It featured an expanded programme with 16 public events, 15 industry events, and 40 post-screening Q&As.

We welcomed 61 international guests including Steve McQueen, Isabelle Huppert, Maxine Peake, Hugo Weaving, Brendan Gleeson, Jared Harris, Clare Dunne, Juliet Stevenson, Trudie Styler, Amy Huberman, Oge Obassi, Peter Coonan, Barry Ward, Brenda Fricker, Guy Maddin, Kevin Macdonald, and Tarsem Singh.
