15-year-old Leland Smith sings an Italian art song written by an anonymous composer. It was initially attributed to Alessandro Stradella, as stated in the G. Schirmer publication of the song, but it can as easily be labeled as the work of later composers such as Francois Joseph Fetis or even Gioachino Rossini. The true origins of the song are still unknown.
