Chasing Cars journalist John Law ran this Hyundai i20 N with two-tone roof for 6 months and nearly 12,000km. After all that driving, do we recommend the i20 N as a great hot hatch?

Our i20 N spec:
- 2021 build, MY21 equipment
- 1.6-litre turbo at 150kW (201 hp)
- Polar white solid paint (no-cost)
- Two-tone roof option ($1000)

The Hyundai i20 N competes directly with the Volkswagen Polo GTI and the outgoing Ford Fiesta ST – and in some ways with the Toyota GR Yaris and its own i30 N hatchback sibling.

As always, we don’t accept advertising from car manufacturers, and we’re powered by Budget Direct - so this is an independent, honest review of the Hyundai i20.
