Description
Lot #1070 - In 1970 and 1971, all of the "Big Three" automakers were trying to grab buyers' attention with big cubic inches, massive horsepower and wild colors. This Grabber Lime Mach 1 checks all of those boxes. It is powered by a 429ci 8-cylinder J-code Ram Air SCJ engine backed by Ford's bulletproof C6 automatic transmission and nodular "N" case Traction-Lok rear end. This Mach 1 was sold new at Lewis Ford in Fayetteville, AR, and is optioned with power steering, sport deck rear seat, power disc brakes, AM radio and console. Upgrades include 15-inch Magnum wheels with radial tires and a rear deck spoiler. This Mach 1 has been in Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma its entire life and has no signs of rust. The original black interior is still in great condition. When the car underwent a cosmetic and mechanical restoration the original matching-numbers engine block was not reused, but it is included with sale of the car. It still has the SCJ Holley carburetor, exhaust heat shield, original smog equipment, assembly line fan shroud, correct radiator and space saver spare tire. This was the last year of the big-block Mustang.
