The approach weather into Frankfurt is overcast but with good visibility of the airfield, we get a great view of the south west province of Frankfurt and over fly the Main river, which joins the River Rhine. The MD-11F smoothly descends along the glideslope with the automated GPWS voice callouts announcing each stage of the descent.

The landing gear is extended at around 2000ft above ground level and the Female Pilot masterfully hand flies the MD 11 onto the ground, where the roll out on runway 07R is extremely rough! After a long flight from Nairobi this cargo crew will be thankful of a good rest on the ground after vacating the runway!
