अलिफ़, लाम, मीम।
वह किताब यही है, (जिसका वादा किया गया था) जिसमें कोई सन्देह नहीं, मार्गदर्शन है डर रखनेवालों के लिए,
जो अनदेखे ईमान लाते हैं, नमाज़ क़ायम करते हैं और जो कुछ हमने उन्हें दिया है उसमें से ख़र्च करते हैं;
और जो उस पर ईमान लाते हैं जो तुम पर उतरा और जो तुमसे पहले अवतरित हुआ है और आख़िरत पर वही लोग विश्वास रखते हैं;
वही लोग हैं जो अपने रब के सीधे मार्ग पर हैं और वही सफलता प्राप्त करनेवाले हैं ।
जिन लोगों ने कुफ़्र (इनकार) किया उनके लिए बराबर रहा, चाहे तुमने उन्हें सचेत किया हो या सचेत न किया हो, वे ईमान नहीं ला रहे हैं ।
अल्लाह ने उनके दिलों पर और कानों पर मुहर लगा दी है और उनकी आँखों पर परदा पड़ा है, और उनके लिए बड़ी यातना है।
