A chef has impressed TikTok users after he turned leftover pizza into gourmet arancini rice balls.

Danny Kim, 26, a content creator from Maryland, US, recently challenged a chef to make his leftover pepperoni pizza into anything gourmet.

In the video Danny walks up to the counter and passes over some leftover pepperoni pizza to his chef friend, JJ Johnson.

Chef JJ starts by removing the top layer of cheese and pepperoni, then starts to cut the pizza base into some squares and toasts it.

He then starts to chop the cheese and pepperoni layer before mixing it with egg, jollof rice, jollof sauce, cheese and breadcrumbs in a large mixer.

After this he takes out the toasted base and adds it to the mix.

The chef then adds mozzarella to the mix before moulding it into balls.

He dips the balls into flour, egg and breadcrumbs before popping them into a deep fat fryer.

After taking them out, he opens the ball in front of the camera revealing a delicious, cheesy, pepperoni and jollof rice ball.

Danny tries the ball and his face lights up in amazement before saying he's speechless and laughing with the chef.

The video garnered over 200,000 views, 23,000 likes and plenty of comments by amazed viewers.
